Re: Danish Krag
It is definitely an 1889 cut down rifle some of the jacket is still on the barrel. Thank you for the barrel shank drawing.

Re: Danish Krag
From what I`ve read the Danes have a right hand thread. I talked about what I want to do with a friend of mine who builds museum quality reproductions of antique single shot rifles. I would like to save the barrel shank that has the markings on it but bore it out saving the threads and then turning ...

Danish Krag
I have a Danish Krag sporter that has a rough bore that leads quite easily .I will try powder coated cast bullets in it but if I have problems I`m going to replace the barrel. This rifle has the original stock but is missing the barrel jacket. I have a machine shop so I would do the work myself ,wha...

Re: Sporterized 1896 carbine
Nice looking rifle you put together. I have a`98 sporter that must have been worked on many years ago that has the same scope mount and an old Lyman 4x. You can tell that it must have been used for hunting a lot with the dings and scratches on the stock but I will never refinish it. I have refinishe...

Danish Krag barrel
I have a Danish Krag sporter with a 28 inch barrel that I would like to shorten about 2or3 inches .It would be better to do with the barrel off the action so that I could mount it on my lathe. How hard would it be to remove it and does it have right hand threads? Thank you,Kooler.

6.5x55 ammo
I have a sporterized Norwegian Krag that I shoot mostly cast bullets. I also have a lot of the Swedish surplus ammo that I have shot in my `96 Mauser. Is it safe to shoot the surplus ammo in my Krag ? Thanks,Kooler.

Re: Building a sporter
Since it`s already drilled and tapped mount a scope on it. I mounted an old vintage scope on mine which was sporterized many, many years ago and I`m glad that I did. But then again I`m 68 years old and the eyes are not like they used to be.
