Re: Early Morning on a friend's deck in Virginia

Re: bought 'nother mauser
Hi todd444, Have fun and good luck restoring your 1908 Brazilian Mauser. BR is correct...most 1908 Brazilian Mausers have seen some hard service in the jungles of Brazil. Mine was no exception, it was a rusty wall hanger when I purchased it. However, it was my third project MILSURP and I was determi...

Re: Happy Easter
I think the original "Duck with Pearl Earring" was purchased by Phil Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" Fame from a Donald Duck estate sale held years ago. He recently put it up for auction and the highest bidder was the AFLAC insurance corporation. Highest bid was 2 bags of bread crumb...

Re: Questions on sporterized Krag
Once again, check out previous forum discussions about dealing with securing the barrel to the stock.
The barrel, if not secured properly to the stock, could lead to the stock cracking just behind the tang of the receiver.
Almost exactly where yours is cracked.

Interesting Find... 1898 Carbine?
I came across this interesting Krag carbine at a local gun store the other day. At first glance I thought it was just another over priced mix mash of put together Krag parts that didn't deserve a second look, but curiosity got the better of me. Serial number is 119559 putting it in the range of 1898...
