All original 1892 Krags are extremely rare. I was under the impression that they were armory converted to the 1896 configuration.
I'm not so sure that I would fire this rifle due to it's collector's value.

My son and I have sent emails to Hornady urging them to consider making 30-40 brass. It would seem that this cartridge would be a good fit for them.

My son and I have sent emails to Hornady, urging them to produce 30-40 cases and ammo. They have sent replies mildly hinting that the request will be considered.<br /><br />Hornady produces several lower volume cartridges and I told them that they would likely have this product/market to themselves....

Until brass is once again available, It would be a good idea to purchase a 30-40 neck size die. Redding may be the only company that manufactures one.
