I am looking a carbine and comparing using Poyers book. Would a carbine is the 346xxx serial range have a headless cocking piece? I know Poyer has a few discrepancies.

Which Book to Buy
If you were going to be able to only purchase one book right now would it be THE KRAG RIFLE STORY by FFramklin B Mallory or The KRAG RIFLE by Lt. Col. William S. Brophy? Thanks for the opinions.

You have some choices. <br />1. Handguards can be glued or look for a replacement on ebay as they do show up.<br />2. If you are buying to rifle for shooting the bore may contribute to the rifle being less accurate but if you aren't shooting it for accuracy it looks like fairly clean barrel. I had a...

Tap Size for Rear Sight Elevation Bar
I need to clean the threads on my 1902 rear sight elevation bar. I can't determine from the locking knob what the the size is. I thought it was a 10-28 or 10-32 but it doesn't look right.

I have found a Krag rifle that has at some point in past had the barrel re-blued. The owner believes that that this shouldn't affect the value. However, I believe that it devalues the rifle.
