Question on Hardness of Krag Receivers and Parts

I have been in contact with a heat treating company who has been recommended as the place to have Mauser receivers heat treated. This company has agreed to heat treat my Krag receivers via case hardening but have requested the Rockwell Scale hardening they need to achieve.

If you know it,...

1898 vs 1902 Krag Sight Ladder Differences?

I was able to get the barrel to nearly time correctly on three different stripped receivers, with all headspacing correctly (closes on Go gauge but n...

Sportarized Krag Barrel Overtimes

I have an 1898 Krag which has a cut down rifle stock and shorted barrel. The barrel current overtimes the receiver, making the rifle unusable. Does an original Krag barrel have enough of a chamber to support removing a barrel thread to fix the timing on the barrel? I was told that the previous owner...

Need help finding 1892 bolt sleeve part

I have two 1892 bolt sleeves which have threading below the flip safety in the rear. The threading is still intact and is usable. What is the name of the part that would go there and where could I find it?
