Not wanting any holes drilled in my receiver I bought a scout scope base some time back goes into the rears sight screw holes and mount forward of the bolt somewhat/

Years back I purchased a Krag sporter stock that came uninetted or checkered. Now I'd like tof have this fitted to a Krag sportiest rifle that I own and use for hunting but, can't seem to find a stockmaker in my geographical area to do this for me. 1901 sights?

On my 1898 with a 1901 rear sight on it, there are marking along the left side of sight base grasduating from (1)100, (2)200, (3)300 but, the next one iseems to be a (4B) for 400 yards? Is this correct?
