Re: Amoskeag Auction

Auction house charges a big percentage to sell. They charge a big percentage to buy. They wind up making around 50% of the proceeds of the guns sold. This is why almost all auctioneers are multi millionaires. Make up your own mind of whether it's worth it or not. They do a lot of work, pictures, adv...

Re: Amoskeag Auction

The two Model 1899 carbines I had low bids on sold for over 3X my bid!! $2,000 for a Model 1899 carbine. They were nice but nothing special other than all correct.

Wow! Glad I have what I need. Can't afford this market anymore. Time to sell some, I guess...

Re: Amoskeag Auction

mattau, The one you referenced above: "An 1896 carbine (lot 75, s/n 31166) was sold earlier today by Milestone auctions. $900 for what looked like a complete original." I had a low bid on also but didn't want to pay much and chase after it. Around $1,200 after added costs. I was interested...

Re: Amoskeag Auction

Yea, I didn't think it was an 1898 but for the low bid, I'll take another Model 1899 carbine with a correct rear sight!

If I get one cheap, maybe I'll sell it to Paul (at no profit!) to get him to join the Krag carbine club. He's needed one for a loooong time!!

Re: Something You Can't Unsee

Did my joke cartoon thread get highjacked?? Nice discussion. But, one factor that may be being overlooked with the Trump issue. I don't think this egotistical powerhouse could have ever gotten this far without significant spiritual guidance and support. He has lots and lots of prayers supporting him...

Re: Amoskeag Auction

Very true, low bids. Carbines SN: 1405 AND 1545 I currently have the high bids for. I'm not bidding real high because I don't need to add more regular carbines to my collection but I don't like to see apparent good ones go for too low money. I do suspect they will be bid much higher by onsite bidder...

Re: Something You Can't Unsee

I do agree that Photoshop was used to alter this picture. That basket on the front of the bike doesn't look like it belongs there and was added!

Please don't hold back next time in telling us how you really feel about this country and its downward demise.

Re: My purchases in the last 72 hours

03collector, Nice acquisitions, especially the Ram Rod! These (original ones!) are unobtainable especially if ever specifically searched for. Nice. Please post more pictures. Pictures below: Upper two pictures, top one is reproduction, bottom one is genuine. Reverse in bottom two pictures. Hope your...

Re: Gun Shows and events

I've used that laugh myself at many gun shows. That's why I rarely go anymore. Have a nice Sunday!
