You have to be careful with "Sergeant Peep", he is very easily 'knocked' out of the fully raised position.

The m-1898 sight was developed for use with a higher velocity cartridge. This sight has a shorter base and peculiar three 'notch' eye-piece. The center notch was used for normal sighting.
