Re: Best Target Ammo?

Since I tried your suggested load, but with Remington 9 1/2 primers, my 1898 original rifle has given me two 1 3/4" groups, at 300 yards. No reason to experiment with other loads. Thank you Psteinmayer!

Re: Armistice - 100 years ago, today.

My grandfather, my mother's father, served in WW1. Whenever at his home, I saw his 1903 Springfield rifle hanging on the wall, and wished I could have it. I do not know whatever became of it.

Re: Bought a new .30 cal mould.

Might want to slug, or measure your bore. My Krag rifle measures .308 in the grooves, and .306 on the lands, at the muzzle. It shoots .308 bullets one minute, or better. It shot a 1 and 3/4 inch group at 300 yards.

Re: Early Critique of US Magazine Rifle

Curious, Springfield dropped the Krag, and started producing the 1903, a Mauser copy.

Re: This old Krag Rifle is new to me

Forgive my ignorance, why do you guys say it is a model '92, when it is stamped 1894?

Re: Never though I'd have one

Normal (Hoppes) cleaning did not do the job on mine. Using Krill Oil and JB's bore cleaning compound did.

Side handle, for when the gun gets too hot. That is my answer and I am sticking with it.

Re: Norwegia Krag Jorgensen - Uffdah

Who says the Mauser is faster to load?
I would like to see the British "mad minute" with the Enfield.

Re: Forced Metric?

I am retired from the USGS, we made all measurements using tenths and hundreds of a foot, this is also used for surveying.

Re: Forced Metric?

If the bearings are properly greased, he may just spin faster.
