It appears as though MidwayUSA is expecting HSM .30-40 Krag 165gr RNFP on 11/11/16...

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/777856/hsm-cowboy-action-a...

Re: Group buy of .30-40 brass by the forum members

Depending on pricing, I could be into a hundred or two rounds.

I like the .405win idea instead of the .303 british because of the OAL thing. I'd pay more money for a case that is the right length.

Are we asking them just about brass that we can buy and load ourselves or complet...

Re: Krag Ammo Now Obsolete?! =(

Not sure how many boxes they had 5 days ago, but the site said there was only a few left so I bought em up. Fingers crossed it's legit.

Re: Sketchy Uncle Bob's Krag

<r>Alright, so I've worked on the rifle on and off. I have other project guns as well. I found a place in Pittsburgh making rails that attach where the rear sight would be. Since mine was missing anyway and I had those screws, I figured it was worth $50 to see what it would look like with the rail. ...

Re: Sketchy Uncle Bob's Krag

Well I got them in the mail and I know now why they were cheap. They were rusted all to hell. I soaked them in PB Blaster and then got after them with a needle file and cleaned up the threads. Took like an hour of goofing around, but they thread into the holes alright now.

I don't feel so...

Re: Sketchy Uncle Bob's Krag

I'm not sure if they are repros or original screws. I do know they were inexpensive.

Either way they're already bought, and there appears to be quite a bit more out there on both eBay and gunbroker. If they fit, I'm gonna use them up.

The DDTC ruling is a drag for sure. More in...

Re: Sketchy Uncle Bob's Krag

I was able to find a couple factory rear sight screws on ebay and bought them. I'll cut them off and use a dremel and a cut-off wheel to make them into dummy screws because yea, that thread size is odd.

I did clean the gun up and learn how to remove the bolt. There was crud in this gun th...

Re: Sketchy Uncle Bob's Krag

I've answered one of my own questions, it turns out.

The set screw on the bottom is actually holding on the collar where the rear sight dovetail is. It looks like someone actually turned that collar in a lathe to match the contour of the barrel and create a location for a rear sight dovet...
