I've always preferred 220gr. RN in my 30-06, and I think the 30-40 will do as well, but at much closer range.
My hangout is Admiralty Island.

I just spent $300.00 for one just like this one, then paid $100. to have it shipped to Alaska.
I was thrilled to get it (gunbroker) at that price.
When you buy a sporterized rifle like this, you're getting a tool that has a long and meaningful history, not just another toy made in China :)

In using any 220 gr. Round Nose, does anyone have feedback on bullet expansion in game hunting ?
I've read elsewhere that most 220 gr. need 30-06 vel. to expand well on game.
