Would it be possible to alter a 762x54 moisin nagant stripper clip to use the 30-40 round? The difference between the two cartridge's rim diameter is 0.025. For display or to see how it functions. It would be a bit cheaper.

I do not know about the Krag barrel, but i had a criterion M-1 garand barrel put on a M-1. My gunsmith said it was a correct fit and i think it shoots great. i would guess that the Krag barrel might have a different thread pitch for the rear sight.

Mine seems to have a slight bevel.

The wire "hanger" is not wide enough for a trapdoor bayonet scabbard. Maybe its for a Krag bayonet, sword or as Mr. Hosmer said a cartridge box?

I bought a N.O.E. mold that casts a 220gr. bullet based on the lyman mold made for the Krag rifle. I have not found a good load for it yet. I did load a bunch of 175gr. and 135gr. cast pills for the Krag. I will head to the range and see how my 1898 rifle likes them (hopefully better than the 220gr....
