Re: Parkhurst carbine

Butlersrangers, I have given your theory thought. It is as good as any other I can come up with. Maybe a will put a bolt with a '96 handle in it sometime just to see how everything lines up.

Waterman, yes they are original Parkhurst clips from S&S Firearms!

Re: Parkhurst carbine

Here is another photo from my Parkhurst. I thought I had posted it before with the others, but I guess not. What do people make of it? I would say probably aftermarket, but wonder why it might have been done. It looks to be a shallow hole drilled in the bolt handle cut out of the stock. Has anyone s...

Re: Parkhurst carbine

Thanks for the heads up on S&S, Blueheeler!! I was surprised that they listed the clip as original. I went for it. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Re: Parkhurst carbine

Waterman, yes, I would love to stumble upon a clip or two now. I am afraid I can't hope to be that lucky! I was lucky enough to find the carbine!!! :-) Scott, thanks for the link. As for the finish and what I plan to do. I go back and forth on this issue. For right now, at least, I plan to leave it ...

Re: Parkhurst carbine

Thanks for the input everyone. Here is a close up of " 'shield shaped' escutcheon at the toe of the stock". It looks like a piece of tape. So, yes, likely from a past civilian owner. I am leaving it there, at least for now. It ahs been there a long time and might mean something. To me, it ...

WTB: Original 1899 Carbine Stock and Barrel

I am looking for an original 1899 Krag carbine stock in good or better condition for a carbine I'm restoring. I am not concerned about date stamps as long as the stock is an original unmodified stock in good or better condition. I am also looking for an original unmodified carbine barrel for an 1899...

Parkhurst carbine

So, here is the latest addition to my collection. I was very lucky to stumble upon it and even luckier to be able to acquire it. I have not seen one in real life before.

Thoughts?
