Re: Long Road from last December

Have you slugged the bore? You MAY need to use .310 or 311 diameter bullets. Some Krag bores are slightly larger than the 308 we all take for granted. Try the IMR4350 powder. That's what I use and get consistent 2" groups at 100 yds.

Re: 30-40 30" Barrel Accuracy?

How come y'all make shooting left-handed ("...and he shoots left-handed") sound like a bad thing? Th'ain't nothing "wrong" about shooting south-paw. It is what it is.

Re: October '98 Rifle With Italian Walnut Stock and HG

Culpepper,
Thank you, Sir. Apparently my pics are too big for the KCA system--.95mb. All I have to do is learn to re-size. I'll do that as soon as I put my abacus down. Obviously I'm not the shiniest bullet in the magazine.

Re: October '98 Rifle With Italian Walnut Stock and HG

Knute 1,
Please enlighten me in the process. I tried to figure it out but came to a dead-end. I get as far as the "choose file" dialog box but when I hit the "post" button, nothing happens except a dialog box that says I need to enter some thing.
Thanks

October '98 Rifle With Italian Walnut Stock and HG

I have a '98 rifle that was made in October of '98. It has been through at least one rebuild. It has the 1901 rear sight. The stock is marked, as best I can tell by comparing to the photos in Poyer's book, 1901. I can't tell for certain because one of its previous owners varnished or shellaced the s...

Posting Pics From Phone

Title says it all. My phone is smarter than me. Can some one tell this dope how to send pics from his phone to the KCA forums? Photobucket is holding my pics hostage--hence the need to use my phone. I get as far as getting a jpg file in the "choose file" box but I'm lost from there.<br />T...

Re: .30-40 Krag 1901 Sight Issue

Remember this too--if you load too light of a powder charge, instead of a controlled burn, you could wind up with a detonation instead and that could be bad for the rifle and the shooter. Consult the loading manuals and follow the loads to a "T".
