Re: Admin Note!

I also had it happen. When I went back and re-submitted, I had a duplicate post. I removed the 2nd one. Another adventure. Krags, Kragistas, & our internet-linked society are not an easy mix. Most of us are over the hill.

Re: Passing of an icon

The late Ms Welch and I are of the same age. That makes me ponder all the vagaries of life. She probably had a lot more fun.

Re: There I was...

Has anyone weighed a few of each of the discussed Boxer primers? My guess is that the weight of the priming compound doesn't vary much. I suspect the weight differences are associated with metal components (cup & anvil). Weighing spent primers might even tell you more.

Re: Big Foot

I'm a long-retired forester, worked in Bigfoot-central country for 5+ years, lived there since 1974. They are real. I'm very tired of all the hoaxers & nay-sayers & the sensationalist TV shows. This one is very funny.

Re: Biden's balloon problem

Anyone seriously committed to our country's defense would have downed the thing as soon as it crossed the border. All that BS about not endangering the public. When it was over Montana? Who is Biden working for?

Re: Newbie with butchered Krag

I have one with a similar stock. I'm reasonably sure that mine is a Bannerman put-together piece. Mine does not have a Krag barrel. Maybe one intended for a 1917 Enfield and turned down. Does yours have holes in the barrel for the military rear sight?

Ray Charles (the blind musician) made an appropriate comment, calling it "N***** Noise". I'm with Mr. Charles.

Re: .30-40 cartridge for coastal artillery practice

I was in the USN from 1960 to 1965. Late in 1963, I was at the US Navy Gunnery School at Dam Neck, VA. I was there for a course on missile guidance systems, but the old Navy Gunnery School with real guns was still in operation. Back then, there were still WW2 ships in commission and the real gunnery...

Re: .30 Purdey Flanged in a US Krag

I have a friend, a rancher way, way out west, who spent a lot of $$ on double rifles and had a lot of British reference books & catalogs. I read the books & catalogs. He never had a double in such a dinky caliber as .30 Purdey. IIRC, the advertised velocity of .30 Purdey cartridges was highe...
