Re: Prices Keep Climbing on Krag Parts!
Where there’s a will, just about anything can be accomplished, including moving granite mountains. It is amazing how things were done with the tools they had 120 to150 years ago. Even meticulous items like pocket watch gears up to a hammer and star bit. The collector I know would of been in his 20’s...

Re: Prices Keep Climbing on Krag Parts!
Fred C. Just catching up on some of the recent post’s and I see you had spent some time perhaps in Cave Creek or the area, I just met a fellow who is a serious avid collector from Cave creek, and just thought maybe you know him, name is Charles, and some people do call him Chuck. He owns a business....

Re: New guy 1898 pictures
Great pictures! Thanks for the sling info as well. I had purchased some new reproduction slings for some enfields several years ago and it really didn’t look authentic to me, so I removed them and found some used slings. Book on Carbines of the US Cavalry
Found this in a second hand book store last week and finally looked at it tonight. “Carbines of the US Cavalry 1861 - 1905”, by John D. McAulay and found a 15 or 20 page chapter on the Krags. This might have some interesting info and old pictures for the Krag collectors. Then again, maybe you have s...

Re: New guy 1898 pictures
I had purchased this about 11 years ago without any knowledge of Krags. The only thing I knew was that I was fascinated with the rifle and to find one with the cartouche date that matched the receiver. The seller stated that it was all original, and the patina looked good to me. At the time I had no...

Re: New guy 1898 pictures
Fred C, here’s some better pics of the front sight blade. It is a bit darker then the barrel, but I don’t see evidence of where it was removed to blue it.

Re: New guy 1898 pictures
I struggle to get these on here. I would be happy to add pictures of something you would like to see. Just let me know, and I’ll take care of it.
