Re: 1896 carbine on the way
She just arrived. Looks really good, bore is very good without a cleaning. 3 hole stock with three cleaning rods included. Will have to wait until tomorrow for a detailed exam, but everything looks good and I am very happy.

Re: 1896 carbine on the way
Thanks for all the observations, I did play with an auction photo in my photo editor and got this for the bolt handle area.
Anyway, she should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday and I will update then.

Re: What is this rifle?
That looks like a still from the movie 55 Days at Peking, about the Boxer Rebellion and starring Chareton Heston. Lee Enfield mk 1s were used as props by the US troops in the movie.

Re: 1896 carbine on the way
Whig, I got it through an online auction on proxybid, about 1200 with fees and shipping. The bore is supposedly excellent, I will post a picture of the sight.

1896 carbine on the way
Hello, I have my first Krag, an 1896 carbine sn 30791 on its way. It looks pretty good from the auction pictures, but we'll see when it arrives, any SRS info would be appreciated. I will try to post a few pics. Screenshot_20221215_193607_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20221215_205223_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20...
