Re: Guide Lip Issue

I re-used the same rivet, it's called a rivet, but to me, it's a pin with a thin cap or head on the end that retains the guide lip. Finding the end of the rivet/pin on the bottom of the receiver was tricky due to the finishing but once located, it tapped right out. If necessary, I think a new one co...

Re: Guide Lip Issue

I've done it, replacing a broken guide lip. Went easier then I thought once I located the bottom of the rivet. Working from the bottom of the reciever, drove it up and out with a punch, drove it back in from the top with a wooden dowel so as not to deform the top of the rivet.

Re: Krag Bolt Failure

So this thread leads me to to want a Krag field guage, but they are out of stock, would a 303 british work? I think rim thickness is the same.

Re: Front sight ID?

Thanks, it is definitely .220 high by a bit over .350 long. Uniform thickness of .055 through out. If not for the thickness, I'd say an 1873 trapdoor. Poyer's book says those were .090 wide.

Front sight ID?

Need help id'ing this blade please. .05 wide, .220 high, no C mark. Filed down M1986 rifle blade? I was also thinking trapdoor based on height, but the width is wrong per Poyer's book.

Thanks,
