Two Krag1898 Rifles Restoration Complete

A few years ago I purchased a rifle with a shot out barrel and a stripped receiver with the intention of bringing them back. I purchased reproduction stocks, hand guards, various parts (thank you Grandpa), and I also purchased new criterion barrels for both. BR contributed a sight to one of the rifl...

Re: How to post pictures

It may have been brought up before, and I don’t know the details on the server… Is it possible to increase the attachment/photo size to 10 MB?

Re: Winter Project Completed

Thanks guys! It’s definitely a step up from the basement main room with portable racks. I can also leave town with less concern now :) My brother has suggested hiding the door as well — he does carpentry, so I suggested he come over take care of it for me…. No luck yet. lol It would be easy to frame...

Winter Project Completed

I needed a better secure place to store my collection — leaving a bit of space for growth. Back in January I planned everything out and decided to covert an unfinished basement room (3 sides are concrete foundation) into a walk in gun room. I went with a security steel mesh under the sheet rock for ...

Re: commercial 30 40 availability?

Remington is hitting the shelf too — it’s available on the Remington website for an absurd price at the moment. But will be probably going for the same price as the Hornady is it comes into stock at different stores.

How are you set for 45 auto rim?
lol — I’ll see what I can come up with.

Re: M1917 Smith and Wesson

Is there a list of the M 1917 S&W revolvers sold through the DCM? I have one, but it came from the estate of a man who was a US Army Corps of Engineers officer in 1918 (in Wyoming) and later was a NRA member. I'd like to know if he just took his revolver home when he left the Army or if he boug...

Re: M1917 Smith and Wesson

Nice S&W model 1917, Sean. I used to have one, that was not quite as nice as yours, but it proved to be a very accurate revolver. IIRC - The chambers would hold .45 acp rounds in place, so it could be fired without 1/2 'Moon-Clips'. A 'Fired' case could be ejected with a pencil. (This was a con...

Re: M1917 Smith and Wesson

Nice find! Looks to be in great shape. I “think” a S&W that early should have the ribbed hammer. Looks pristine for its age. Pulled the grips yet? Matching? My hammer is smooth — I was watching or read somewhere it was around serial number 16000 that they went to the smooth hammer. I understand...
