Re: First Krag
Had a hard time finding what I needed so I decided to just make my own band to fit the set-up the rifle came with. Took a few attempts but got it to work and after several range days it held up well and I haven’t had any issues with it. Was very surprised by how accurate the rifle was given I had ne...

Re: First Krag
Sadly I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find a close replacement or any of the parts suggested. I’ll get some measurements tonight post it to see if the uncle mikes band works. If not If you’re able to make a part that would work I can get some measurements tonight and send them over to you, it would...

Re: First Krag
Good to know, I’ll check it in the morning. do you know where I could find those barrel bands?butlersrangers wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 5:30 am Griffin - Please measure the diameter of your barrel where the 'metal-strap' barrel-band is located.
Stevens-Savage and Uncle Mikes once made similar bands, that might work.

Re: First Krag
You are correct, looks like it was a thin metal band that overlapped its self and the nut and plate push down on it when the screw is tightened and tighten the barrel. Can’t see and other markings on the band or the screw bedsides the 12.5. Sadly the previous owner is no longer around or I’d try to ...

Re: First Krag
Thanks, more ideas in case we ever need to do something similar. That work was nicely done as well as everything else we have seen. You do not have to take it apart for us, but if you do for your own need or curiosity we would like to see more pictures. It’s okay, I disassemble and clean all my fir...

Re: First Krag
On the 3rd image from the top, I am seeing that offset as if the sling attachment and barrel band are separate. That got my curiosity up. A photo from the bottom would answer a lot of questions. IMG_4876.jpeg Here’s what I can get right now, I’ll try to disassemble it soon and get more pictures. Th...

Re: First Krag
Thanks! I’ll attach some more photos, could only do 5 and forgot to add more. My bad. Serial number: 444994 IMG_4783.jpeg I don’t have the best pictures of the rear sight but I’ll try to get better ones when I’m by the rifle. I’ll do the same for the band on the barrel. First Krag
Just acquired my first Krag, it looks like a well done sporterized rifle but wanted to get more experienced eyes on it and to find out as much as I can.
