That is pretty cool. Yes, too bad it is not complete with the rifle.

That's the way I understood it when I saw the actual clip. The "T" part of the clip was sprung back as it was inserted to move out of the way of the rim of the cartridges to allow them to freely fall into the magazine. Pretty ingenious.

I was looking at mine and thinking that the 'guide-rib' should act a a very good safety lug.

Pretty amazing that the last shot fired with that cracked bolt did not snap the lug completely off. Krag tough I suppose.
