Re: Watch those "C's"

Whig,

It seems Krag collectors also collect coins too. Which makes sense this Rifle and Carbines are tough to find....

Thanks :)

Re: Watch those "C's"

<r>I was able to spend a lot of time at the CMP South store back in 2003-2007 selected a few m1 Garands, 1903 springfields, and 1917 enfields. They told me back then that you will never get to select these types of rifles in this quality and correctness ever again. My grand father gave me his M1 Car...

Re: Watch those "C's"

Outstanding data, amazes me on why there are so many fake items especially sights with the Krag rifle and carbine, compared to other rifles like the M1 Garand or carbines like the M1 carbine. <br />I started collecting the modern stuff 1st and working backwards, now on the Krag. Of course my site wo...

Re: My Krag is ready for the range

<r>This site part is on ebay. Is this a correct one or a fake? I notice too that we have rounded and square.. Very interesting. I wonder why these Springfield Krags have so many variations especially with the rear sight. Why reproductions exist? My thoughts are this rifle was not used in ww2 or ww1,...

Re: My Krag is ready for the range

I am not really a collector of Krags, but I am now. As far as the sight it works great. I am sure it is probably is a fake based on reading through all the information on this site. But as far as a wonderful carbine, I love this carbine, we will be having a lot of good times together! :) Happy you a...

Re: My Krag is ready for the range

<r>The site base appears to be an 1898. Serial number is 77679. I took this carbine with my 1903 Springfield, M1917 Remington and M1 Garand to the range, and wow. I love how smooth the action is. I had never shot one before, and it very forgiving for a guy that is not the best shot..lol Amazing carb...

Re: Fake Carbine Model 1896 Stock

Thank you! You are right on. To much meat gone. Amazes me on how many stocks have been messed with on the Krag series of rifles and carbines. :)
