Krag Single Row Cartridge Belt Help
<r>A couple months back, I acquired an unidentified Krag cartridge belt for my collection. I'm looking for some help to identify what this model is. It may be original or manufactured for a military school or just a good reproduction.

The belt is the correct size and weight material and ...

Re: Collecting Krag sights
Great Idea! I guess I better start doing some more "mining" in the Krag parts drawers and make a proper display also. Very nice collection.

So glad you bought the two books! Not an inexpensive resource but that shows you are a serious Krag student.
Best of luck. And keep us posted on your project.

Re: 1896 Krag Rifle [advice needed - PICS Added]
The cracked hand guard is something I would leave original. It is normal for these old Krags. It won't change how it shoots. I would prefer an original 120 year old matching cracked hand guard over a new replacement any day. I have done both, purchased new replacements to install on rifles with miss...

Re: Pictures from Camp Perry Vintage Match
Someone asked if that was me with the Krag. Nope. Just three buddy's. I was shooting with the camera between relays.

Too far to get back to Camp Perry for the Roosevelt match. That "first annual" tee shirt will be a collector item. But check the CMP web site for the 2017 schedul...

Pictures from Camp Perry Vintage Match
<r>It was a long HOT week at the National Matches at Camp Perry Ohio. Saw lots of Springfield 03A3's and a few 03's and Krags. I took a Silver medal with my M-1903 (missed a gold by ONE point). 278/300

Same story with the M-1 Garand. Silver medal. Missed gold by one point

Shot ...

Anyone shooting Krag's next week at CMP Camp Perry
I am shooting the CMP Vintage match with my 98 Krag on the Saturday AM relay July 30 on Rodriguez range. Any other Krag forum members shooting that day? Best to name a target number and meet on the ready line on that number before getting in line for squading tickets.

It would be great j...

Re: Intro & CMP Questions
Cliff,

I've shot the CMP matches the last few years and Paul's information is right on. It is loads of fun. One more thing I would mention, The CMP rules are intended to keep things safe, simple and fun. Even if you don't have any match experience, just go to a local match and see how it ...

Re: Hello and what do I have
Thanks for the information. The rifle barrel is 32 inches. Your Krag at 23 inches would be a carbine. The front sight sleeve mounting looks original except there would have been a rail on the underside to attach the bayonet. It was probably ground off when the piece was sporterized.

The A...

Re: Hello and what do I have
A couple more thoughts on your Danish Krag.

It looks like the stock has defiantly been sporterized, but I think the metal components are likely unmodified originals. It still could turn out to be a cut down rifle. Need more information and pictures of the muzzle end.

They are a...
