I had emailed him and he said it was a permanent situation. Not good news at all. I wonder if he made them or if they were outsourced. Would be nice if someone could acquire the plans/equipment and put them back into production.

I think the storm troopers in the next episode of Star Wars are going to be armed with an updated version of this rifle. Would probably outclass the tweaked out broomhandle mausers that Luke and Han were armed with in the earlier episodes.

Yep, it says twenty bucks below the photo; however if you click on the part you will see that the actual selling price is at least twice that for one in good condition and even more for one in excellent condition.

FredC, I think you are on the right track. I have some older cartridges in my collection that exhibit cracked necks and they have never been fired or reloaded.

Appears to be 30-40 Krag ammo manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms. Value is what a collector would pay for it (and it is highly collectible). They show up regularly on the big auction site. Usually can get one for about half the price you quoted.
