Re: Parkhurst carbine

S and S shows the clip for sale on their site. [https://www.ssfirearms.com/proddetail.asp?prod=K574] That was where I first heard of the device, back in the 70s. Was going to get one, never did. I'd jump on that one! Never know when you'll see another. As to the finish, I'd probably do a GENTLE cle...

Re: I can smell ...

Ahhh, good old Ebay - should have checked first before last post. I have the 6oz. cans, some loose, some in sealed HEAVY cardboard cartons. Condition is NOS, basically "mint", not scuffed up like some of the Ebay photos. Will advise quantities and prices soon.

Re: I can smell ...

Thanks for the interest! I'll check stock and see what I actually have, also take some pics. NOT being "cute" but I truly have NO idea what would be a fair price, or what the shipping situation would be. Don't think it's "hazardous" but it certain is a liquid, which would have to...

Re: Parkhurst carbine

That is GREAT, Tom. REALLY happy for you! I've never seen a Parkhurst in over 50 years of collecting. I'm sure that part of that is geographical, living in northern CA, but still . . .

Guess it needs to be added to our database . . . ahem . . . . chuckle . . . ahem. . . .

Re: School Rifles with JFC Stock Cartouche

Mine seems to have a slight bevel. That is EXACTLY like mine. I'm just not clear why they would take that little extra step if the Krag bayonet was the intended choice. Perhaps they were MEANT for the 1905, and it just wasn't followed up, exactly as KC said? The bevel would have had NO ill effect o...

Re: School Rifles with JFC Stock Cartouche

And THERE'S an interesting angle (bad pun) that I'd not considered. The drill/school guns were not made for combat, but the PCRs were . . . and that 4" extra reach could be put to good use.

Re: School Rifles with JFC Stock Cartouche

Whig, Since you are the only person i know to have a genuine/probable/possible real PCR, did Joe Farmer say anything about this point? For that matter, did he EVER tell you what the feature was that convinced him yours was real? And, if he did, are you at liberty to divulge what that feature was, or...

Re: School Rifles with JFC Stock Cartouche

One key point that is seldom mentioned is that the bayonet lug for those "short rifles" intended for use with the 1905 bayonet is beveled at the front like that of a 1903. This was done because - while the bayonets are completely interchangeable - they latch differently, and the bevel make...

Re: I can smell ...

Speaking of GI bore cleaner - I have a LOT of the stuff, much still in sealed cartons from the Johnson Wax Company in 1941. Wonder if there is any collector (or shooter) interest?

Re: My 2nd Krag - May 1903 Rifle in 1900 Stock

Well, I’m leaning on the 50% that your hunch may be right because that means I don’t have to try to find a .22 caliber practice rifle to buy😂 Not clear on how having (POSSIBLY) having the stock for one would eliminate the "need" to have the whole gun? :o Physically, the stocks are identic...
