That is the plan because I really don't know how hard it is to find replacement parts, and I shoot the earlier rifle occasionally.

This is my nice 1898 Krag(at least I think so). I have shot it at our range and it is very accurate and fun to shoot. I have two Krag rifles, one has a 1900 cartouche and is in very nice condition and one has a 1903 cartouche and is in okay condition. The rear sight on the rifle in the best condition has a broken windage adjustment shaft and the adjusting wheel is missing. I was thinking of replacing it with a part...
