Re: First shot from a Krag
I've used a PJ O'Hare micrometer on my 1901 Krag sight as well as an '03 Springfield. Works just fine on either.

<r>The butt plate is unscratched, never even been in a parade. Bore like new. Wood is sharp and clean. At least now it will get some light as a wall hanger.<IMG src="https://kragcollectorsassociation.org/kca/phpBB3/images/yabbfiles/Attachments/P1030459__640x480_.jpg"><s>[img]</s><URL url="https://kr...

Went Krag Shopping;
<r>but came home with a Colt. Packed in whale oil. All the time scrubbing it I feared finding "Italy" stamped on it. Made in 1864 for NJ; never issued. Like NOS, new old stock, mint but no history to tell. I'm happy.<IMG src="https://kragcollectorsassociation.org/kca/phpBB3/images/yabbfile...

Re: Target Shooting Sight Micrometers
P.J. O'Hare catalog NO.8 ,no date, lists the micrometer for $5.00, the sight cover for $1.00. If in a "special hurry" your payment and order could be sent by telegraph. We're not that much quicker today.

Same data is in Lyman 45th edition. Must have been no problems since 1970.

More on Bullets
Dec. issue of "Handloader" magazine, Brian Pierce's column had an interesting letter on 170 gr 30-30 bullets in Krag loads. Brian's take was their ogive was better suited for Krags than spire points, and more accurate. Thoughts ?
