More on Pope Krag Palma Barrels
From "Shooting and Fishing" June 30,1904. Harry Pope was a subscriber to the weekly Shooting paper that predates the NRA American Rifleman magazine. About 30 years ago while flea market shopping I came on a stack of these magazines from the early 1900 shooting era. While I was looking at t...

Re: Me and the Remington 41P
My small bore friends refer to the Aguila brand as "Taco Ball". Good stuff.

Re: .22 cal target Krag
We have not talked about the Norwegian Krag .22 training rifle yet...........
I guess we I better get started on some side by side target testing.

Re: Krag Palma Barrel?
BR, How did I miss that shooting classic? My reprint copy arrived in today's mail. A wonderful addition to my shooting classics library. Great reading! I will dig through my old Pope collection. I think I do have the article about the Palma barrels with Popes hand written comments in the margin. If ...

Re: .22 cal target Krag
Accuracy from the Stevens Pope Krag. This was 100 yards in the prone with the leather sling and standard velocity ammunition and the 1902 rear sight.

Re: .22 cal target Krag
In addition to collecting Krags, my interests run to military marksmanship, vintage match shooting and .22 Cal military training rifles. I often shoot several Krag .22 training rifles and would NOT say they are any sort of POS, My experience has found them to be well made and a pleasure to shoot. An...

It's not a Fake
In the collecting world we sure see our share of "Fake" items. Modified Krag rifles into "Carbines", Reproductions of field equipment made to look old, knockoff ladies name brand designer hand bags, reproduction vintage car parts and on and on. While I was re-reading some old rep...

Me and Karl's Krag Book
Several of you referred to Karl Hanevik's excellent book on the Norwegian Krag in my inquiry about Norwegian rifle slings. Just to brag a little, I have the book in my library inscribed with a personnel autograph from Col. Hanevik. We met at various gun shows off and on years ago and did some tradin...

Re: ID Different Norwegian Sling
Thanks for the information. The sling I acquired is probably the one shown on the Imported Mauser rifle. The good condition of the leather would point to about 1960's manufacture I think. Still a neat piece even if it won't fit my Norwegian Krags. I have a Commercial FN Mauser hunting rifle built in...

ID Different Norwegian Sling
I picked this sling out of a box of miscellaneous stuff at a recent event. It is defiantly a Norwegian rifle sling. Well marked. Styled like the two piece US M1907 sling. It has two of the distinctive Norwegian single brass hook but one is reversed? The width is 1 inch. Too wide for the boys carbine...
