Might also stop using the Lee crimping die. It's not needed. Also take a close look at your seating die and check the diameter of the neck expanding button in two places 90 degrees apart.

Re: Interesting failure NRA-UK report
Detonation is a very plausible cause here. Fast powders and low case density are a dangerous thing in rifle calibers. Too large a diameter of projectile could also cause this.

A note about the Brits. There's a story going around the FAA about the Bits. They were looking for a way to test ...

Re: Cracked Stock
Sounds like a plan to me. Injecting will probably do the trick and the holes will increase the area for the epoxy to bond. The rounded holes, filled with epoxy, will further stabilize the stock.

Re: Cracked Stock
The crack appears to be a maximum of .020" wide, when it is wedged open. The clearance is less as you move aft on the stock. I believe the epoxy would not flow down into the crack with this small clearance. Hence, the need to route out part of the crack (to get the epoxy to flow into the void)....

Re: Cracked Stock
I don't see how you could possibly get enough epoxy to flow into the cracks to make an effective repair. Rules or not, I'd opt for routing some of the crack out. As far as cleaining is concerned, the linseed penetrates a surprisingly small amount of the stock (maybe 1/16 of an inch). I wouldn't even...

Re: Cracked Stock
I've repaired this type of crack (very common) before with epoxy resin. The majority of the recoil transfer to the stock is at the aft wall of the magazine well, which may generate a similar crack from an uneven fit. The fix requires some release agent to spray on the contact area and some common ep...
