Re: climate change morons

Of course, you will have to use maple leaves that have died from natural causes. You can replenish your stock every fall and have several colors. But they age and dry out, and get crumbly. But have no fear. Someone will brew up a preservative to make those maple leaves soft and pliable year round. T...

If a person was to build one, the MVA scopes made for BP rifle enthusiasts might be a starting point. The mounts would be the challenge.

Re: New Purchase - Rusted Barrel

The above load works well for me, although I add a couple of tenths of 3031. IIRC, it is a Phil Sharpe load from the 1930s, only he used the then-common M1 ball bullets for the .30-06. It is also, scaled down for case volume, the 3031 equivalent of the .30-06 International Match load using HiVel #2.

Re: New member intro, 1st time Krag owner

Welcome to this bit of madness. I also have a Kropatschek (8x60R) and shoot the thing. I make the cases in my home workshop, about as complicated as anything I have yet encountered. The Krag is much more fun. Have you thought of having cases made from solid brass rod stock, such as the RMC company m...

Paper bullet blanks

This is a post about ammunition, but about the manufacture of paper bullet blanks. I thought it belonged here.

What keeps the E.C. Blank powder inside the paper bullet? And I thought E.C. Blank powder was pink.

Re: U.S.S. Michigan - renamed "Wolverine"

You guys of course know about the next USS Wolverine, the paddle-wheel aircraft carrier that thrashed about Lake Michigan during WW2. I was only 4 or 5 when I saw it, but IIRC, it was tied up at Navy Pier in Chicago.
