Re: Paid your dues?
I have no idea if i've paid, or when. I searched all over the site and cannot find any reference to paying dues or how/when.

If there is a page on here somewhere, it's well hidden. I dunno... maybe a great big button at the top somewhere really obvious....or are dues only for an exclusiv...

Isn't it illegal to take a rifle action and make it into a pistol?

Re: Owned a Krag for 40 years, just found this forum
Welcome to the Krag forum, ex-californian (me too, BTW).
My dad bought a sporterized krag in Waco, TX as he left Ft. Hood for Christmas leave. That was 1942, I think. I've got a pic of him in his Army uniform standing next to a buck he and his brother took over the holidays, the Krag by his sid...

Re: Reinstall trigger/sear assembly on an 1896 KRAG
Having just gone through this last week without having first read this thread, I used a single edge razor blade, slid up from below to give the spring something to bear against as I maneuvered the trigger into place. Worked first try.

Re: 1898 Krag with Redfield peep sight
I've got the same peep on my sporterized Krag. Works great and was able to put 5 in the ten ring at 100 yds last week using hand loads. Not bad for 65+ year old eyes. :o

My Krag appears to have been sporterized by a more local gunsmith. Different front sight and more wood work modificatio...

Peep Sight Elevation Markings Question
<r>A question for you old time Krag shooters, are these markings for reference only or do they translate into yds per hashmark at a given velocity?

I am shooting 220 grain Hornaday Round Nose over 40 grs of IMR 4350 in new Winchester brass. These are supposed to be loaded to about 2000 fp...
