Re: Serial number???

Can't be a 9, 6, or a 1. Nor a 8, 5, 3, or 2. So that leaves a 4 or a 7. It cannot be a 4 because it will have a vertical stroke like a 1 and perpendicular cross mark. This has a swoop to the vertical and no cross mark so I will say the serial number is 77961. Do you have a pic of the left side of t...

Re: 71

Geeze Culp... how DO you manage to find these low-numbered treasures? If it shoots nice, bring it to Perry and you will definitely have the oldest rifle on the line... that is unless Stretch decides to amaze us and actually bring his Trapdoor like we were talking about at last year's Nationals! I j...

Re: 71

I like how you say it's a "complete set" but it doesn't have the stock, hand guard and cleaning rod (ramrod). I chuckled at that one! That's sure a low number. Are any of the parts serialized? I was gonna say barreled receiver but all the fire control parts are there. Heck yeah they are.

Re: Krags and Polar Bears

And that is why the polar bear went extinct. Wait. It was global warming. No, no. Global cooling. CLIMATE CHANGE! What? You say they are not extinct? But. But. But Greta said if we got rid of the polar bears everything would be lollipops and cotton candy for humans. The 6.5 is a great cartridge. Too...

71

I bought #71 as a complete unit except for the stock, hand guard, and cleaning rod and I want to shoot it. So I am going to move it into 3140's stock and fire it up. The front sight looks very short so maybe my loads will work with it. The rifling looks pretty good which is a plus. Will give a range...

Welcome to the greatest Krag forum this side of heaven and that other place, Romad. The smarter guys will be along shortly. As for resizing, Open MSPaint, "save as" a new file name, then go to resize and resize in equal per cents on the vertical and the horizontal. Never work on your origi...

Re: Want To Put An Unusual Barrel On A Krag

[quote=Starmetal post_id=47918 time=1707079180 user_id=4205 Do you fellows know that when the U.S. first came up with the 30-40 cartridge that they barreled up a Springfield Trapdoor for it? Then they dropped it figuring it was a tad too much for the Trapdoor. [/quote] That and a host of the other r...
