Re: Saw a Krag in a movie
If you ever watch the old reruns of Hogan's Heros, SGT Schultz the German guard, is carrying a Krag. I guess they couldn't find a 98 Mauser for him.

Re: 1898 Krag Cast Bullet Range Report
I found that you can use the Lee .303 collet neck sizer on the Krag. You can turn down the mandrel slightly, in a drill press with emery cloth, if needed to get the neck tension you want. No lube with the collet die is needed, and the cases seem to last forever.

Re: Troubleshooting new 98 Krag
I was looking on Ebay and found a magazine cutoff from a 96 Krag. The seller said in the description it would not fit a 98. Is that true, or are the different styles unique to specific years?

<r>Here is a photo of my ejector. For the magazine cut off, is there a spring and plunger to go with it also?<IMG src="https://kragcollectorsassociation.org/kca/phpBB3/images/yabbfiles/Attachments/103-0336_IMG.JPG"><s>[img]</s><URL url="https://kragcollectorsassociation.org/kca/phpBB3/images/yabbfil...

Troubleshooting new 98 Krag
I recently aquired a sporterized 98 Krag with an offset scope. I am having minor issues with this rifle and would appreciate some troubleshooting advise. First issue, there is no magazine cutoff on this rifle. In reading posts on this forum about receiver sights, it indicates the previous owner migh...

Re: Safety for scope use
I don't know what brand of scope mount it is. It has only U4 on it. By the looks, it was designed to be mounted low.<br />The Krag turns out to be a good shooter, despite the handicap of a 12 lb trigger, and a coarse, post and crosshair reticule. Correcting the trigger pull will be on a future post....

Re: Safety for scope use
<r>The SN begins with 313, and the barrel is 25" long, measured from the bolt face. there is a notch at the muzzle for the front sight. The rear sight holes are plugged and finished over, but I still can see the outlines. Maybe it is not an original Krag barrel. As I feared, moving the scope ba...
