Re: Why did the US go with the Krag design?
"That’s how wars were fought in those days. “Firepower” was not a thing." I'm sure the over one million casualties of the Somme Campaign (1 July to 13 November 1916) would beg to differ. The Winds-of-Change seem to keep blowing every where...here's a video concerning the possible adoption ...

Re: Interesting Ammo
Thanks guys for your input! I find it very fascinating how cartridges have followed an evolutionary path along with the firearms that were meant to shoot them. BR I believe you spent your time wisely as a youth and I'm sure you have always been a lady charmer. I especially think that the women swoon...

Interesting Ammo
One of my buddies is a collector of ammunition and recently acquired cartridges from an estate sale. Looking through the many boxes of cartridges I plucked out some of the rounds that caught my eye and I thought I'd share them with you. Many are very familiar and I'm sure you'll recognize them immed...

Re: Krag Ephemera
I also couldn't find a serial number when I looked at the photos listed at the sale site.
I'm glad you purchased the documentation as I know their going to a good home.
Hope you find the elusive serial number!

Re: Show me a nice stock Cartouche
More cartouches BTW: The top cartouche is located on my chromed ceremonial Krag that received much interest at a recent gun show. Many folks had taken pictures of it as they had never seen a chromed Krag before. Even had a couple teenage boys stop by the table and comment "Check-it-out, a bling...

Re: Check and Double Check .30 Remington
Hi Red Hot Chili Culpepper,
I usually buy the bayonet first then the gun.
Here's a lonely little Remington Model 14 carbine that needs a home and some TLC.
I especially like the trigger guard wrap!!!
