Frank Mallory R. I. P.
We are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin B. Mallory, who leaves us a wealth of information as a reward for tireless research of Krag-Jorgensen rifles. Frank, who was a friend to many and respected by all of us KCA members, has left us a well organized, authoritative and clearly written book...

Re: Danish M1889 Krag Rifle in NC
Richard,

Nice find! Not pristine, but good for the money. We reload for the Danish Krag 8x58r. Initial investment can be quite a bit. Buffalo arms has dies and brass, reformed from 45-70. If you don't want to bother with the reloading, let me know and I can take this gun off your hands, and m...

Nicolai,
Great photos of a lovely and rare Danish Krag sniper. Good luck shooting it. I imagine it should shoot a pretty tight group. Congratulations on this great find!

Musketshooter,

First of all, you need to read directions about posting classified ads here. Second of all, if you want to be of service to our KCA members you should actually list your items here in our classified section, not just tell us that you have listed it somewhere else.

Best r...

Re: Help on Danish Krags needed
John,
What kind of information are you seeking? I own a couple of Dane carbines myself and may be able to help you. Also the books by Mallory and by Brophy each have sections on Danish Krags.
Best regards,
Tom

Re: just bought a mod 1898 ser#82738
Go to our photo section. We don't have a picture of an 1896 long rifle (we should do that), but if it is un-cut, your gun should look like the 1898 rifle for the most part.

Re: Ejector won't eject
Sounds to me like the extractor (the long bar on top of the bolt) isn't working. It may have a worn or broken tip. Without seeing it, I can't be sure. They are fairly easy to come by and replace. I don't have an extra right now, but someone else on the site may have one to offer. Check out our Class...

Re: Is that a Krag Carbine in "Death Hunt"
There is a Krag used in the classic film "To Kill a Mockingbird". Watch closely in the scene where Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) has to shoot a rabid dog in the street. It is a cutdown Krag that shoots so straight and gets the job done.

It is always fun to see them in the movies!!!<b...
