Re: 1943 Inland M1 Carbine
During the "Bulge Counter-Attack", he was sent to the area with numerous other artillerymen, who had trained on the U.S. 75 mm. cannon. As an expedient, they simply 'manned' captured German 77 mm guns, that had been 'left' in Belgium. Holy cow! They would just setup as use the abandoned G...

Re: Another shiny object?
Guns and trains go quite well together — at least for me. I made a career out of the trains… Choo-choo!

1943 Inland M1 Carbine
My M1 Carbine began restoration about 3-years ago and was just completed. She is a 1943 with correct parts and wood.
So excited!

Re: Woke Diversity Killed This Billionaire and His Titan Passengers!
Hmmmm. That might explain why they were using a game controller to drive it. A wind up woodpecker toy tapping on the inside of the hull might have been helpful in locating it too. They had already been lost once before. Hope they had a hammer to tap on the hull. Woke people may not have watched Hun...

Re: Hot blue
Here is a post I found describing something similar: https://www.finishing.com/116/28.shtml Q. Help needed on bluing that turned out red-purple. I have recently started bluing and repairing guns as a hobby. I have run across a problem. I blued a Winchester 94 using Brownell's Oxynate No. 7. and adde...

Re: Hot blue
When I think of Hot Bluing, I am thinking of the modern bluing process with the salts in hot tanks. I know the general bluing options as Hot Blue, Cold Blue, and Rust Blue. Within the Hot Blue category, you can get a finish done with a high polish, standard polish, or matte (blasted to rough up the ...

Re: 1898 Krag Restoration Project
They will be GORGEOUS, but, truly, different strokes for different folks! Granted that the cost exceeded your expectations, I'd have saved up my money and bought mint originals for that kind of financial outlay. The originals would hold their value, the rebuilds will only depreciate - I'm too cheap...

Re: 1898 Krag Restoration Project
So I received back the Griffin and Howe quote today and it’s around $4750 for both rifles. At least it’s south of a standard Turnbull restoration in price — I am still running this through in my head. I was hoping for a quote of around $2500 — typical, it’s about double. So, we all know the rifles w...
