An all-original Norwegian 1894 in fine condition with a bright bore is certainly uncommon in the USA and desirable to someone with an interest in Krags or Scandinavian rifles. Most have corroded bores and many have been damaged or molested.

You can try to bend yours if you like, but I'll leave mine alone. It's a rather short piece of hardened steel with a hole right at the apex - not a good candidate for bending. I suppose you could heat it up and bend it, then harden and temper appropriately if you have those skills. Or you might simp...

Firing almost anything without cleaning afterward can lead to corrosion. The major exception is lubricated lead bullets with modern priming and powder. Blanks are especially bad because they leave a lot of residue in the bore and no protection.

It seems to be the rear 1/3 of a US Krag upper band. The forward portion was apparently removed.
