Re: Annealing
Old thread on annealing. Some of us are color blind and seeing the color change is hard. If you are doing a lot of cases at one time the molten salt method is pretty fool proof. Safety precautions are mentioned in the thread, spilling a pot of molten salt would be very bad for your health. http://kr...

Re: Thoughts for the day
Cannot tip a deer, they sleep lying down. Not sure about the horse in the background, the only time I have seen them lying down is when they are rolling in the dust or sick. My guess is horses sleep standing up.

Re: Strange Stuff
My secretary's daughter did not like horses because they think they are smarter than you. I had an occasion to let the neighbor's horse out of the pens the other day. I asked "are you smarter than people just think you are smarter than people?" Neither replied so I learned nothing from tha...

Re: Thoughts for the day
I checked with the ranch manager next door (He bought most of my place and the cattle) and some cows do sleep standing up. He saw cow tipping as a difficult, as they do seem pretty aware even when most are sleeping. He did not comment on possible broken ribs and death of the cow if a person successf...

Re: Thoughts for the day
Pretty funny Br. Does anyone know if cow tipping is a real thing? Seems I have seen them lying down sleeping many times. A few in the herd will be standing, never asked them if they were asleep though. Even walking up on them at night they seem pretty aware of their surroundings and many will get up...

Re: .22 cal target Krag
T You can crash the population of any mammal spieces by killing off the breeding age females. Look what happened in reverse with deer in the 1970s and 80s. In Ohio for years there were buck only seasons. Then the herds exploded.. i remember seeing herds of ten to twenty deer. Then came the one buck...

Re: It is already too late! Maybe not.
#1 eclipse is in the books. A friend and I planned to take cameras to the west side of Jourdanton to catch some photo time. An hour before it was very cloudy to the west in the direction we had planned. So we headed east towards my place. Borrowed the neighbor's' Gator to get a high point in an open...

Re: 1898 Krag sights
Sure would be a coincidence if that is the 98 carbine sight that Br has been looking for.
Even if it is not, photos would help the wise persons here identify what you got.

Re: Krag sporter estamate
Seems like a simple solution to the brother in law situation would be a trade plus cash. Everybody wins then. The B/L gets a Krag that shoots right off the bat, the widow gets close to $500.00 cash, and a member here gets a valuable 96 carbine sight. A receiver sight or original Krag barrel sight wo...
