Re: Krag Bolt-Lug Crack
That last one would be helped by a better close up, but I think I see a finer grain structure near the surface and coarser structure near the center. If so that is as expected with case hardening. The coarse structure in the center lends toughness and resistance to cracking. A denser finer structure...

Re: Model 1892 Krag
Low serial number and a lot of correct points for a '94. I see a bolt hold open set up that was added to it (sort of expected as very few missed the update). By the way WELCOME to KCA!

BR,
Is this in your possession? Did you take the photos? Like you say we do not see many.

Re: Krag Sidebox Blamed For Inaccuracy
Knute, Sorry, I got mixed up some of my earlier post was meant to be here. Your 2 posts were relatively close together and I had the problem with SpamHaus. I can not say I would agree with that idea that the side box causes any inaccuracy, feeding from the bottom is more accurate than the side, WHY?...

Spamhaus.org
Anyone else having their posts blocked by this organization (Spamhaus.org)? I followed the link and it said that my email server was not set up correctly with TMobile? The computer in the house is the only one having the problem and has no Email so far. I have had it for a couple of years and just s...

Re: Early Krag Review
Some American writers (in the fake news tradition) sure got on the Band Wagon to trash the New and Foreign Krag-Jorgensen! The Danish Krag was one of many rifles submitted for the U.S. Ordnance Trials. It was a very different Krag model that excelled in the tests. It's like the writer went out of h...

Re: Early Krag Review
The author seems to be a grouch. I have never seen the barrel sleeve that he hates. I have only had a few Krags in my hands and ever one had the sights screwed to the barrel not the invisible steel barrel sleeve. Must have been a later article that mentioned the magazine causing inaccuracy. I can no...

Re: Criterion Barrel on a U.S. Krag
Thanks Jeff, for the final chambering info. on the Criterion barrel. ButlersRangers, I have no doubt you could install a criterion barrel yourself. If I remember right you made or borrowed a receiver wrench and did a barrel swap. The chamber can be finished reamed on a barrel/receiver assembly. No ...

Re: Add to favorits?
Used the wrench to book mark a post, in just a couple of minutes I found where the bookmark is stored. Click on your log in name and choose "user control panel". Then choose "manage book marks". I saw there was a manage drafts function, maybe that is where you go to get stuck Pri...
