Re: ‘Carbine’ into a Constabulary’ish build.
Got his old bubba sling swivel removed, spacer built, epoxied in, sanded down and the correct sling swivel mortise milled and swivel installed. Next week I’ll recut the grasping grooves. Still a lot to do.

Re: "Up-Grading" Faux Carbine
The 12.00 enfield handguard was too small. Back to the drawing board. I need a solid handguard for it. Anybody got any ideas on a handguard from another rifle that might work? I found a solid krag handguard but he’s not going to spend 100.00 for one. Got an old garand handguard that I’ll play with t...

Re: "Up-Grading" Faux Carbine
Nicely done. Your build is right down my alley. My bud just gave me his cutdown to do a faux school rifle rebuild on. He has a legit carbine but was wondering what I could do on his cut up rifle. Just getting started on it. It had a goofy home made sling swivel on the buttstock that I’m removing, wi...

‘Carbine’ into a Constabulary’ish build.
A good shooting bud wants me to rebuild his ‘carbine’ into a constabulary rifle. He’s always liked my 1899 constabulary/school rifle. He has a legit Krag carbine. His cutdown needs a correct lower swivel, a rear sight, handguard and a cutdown stock forend replacement with bbl band. He told me that h...

Re: I shouldn't care
A while ago a fellow on gb had a Krag ‘carbine’ listed that was very rough and very overpriced. To my untrained eye it was obviously a cut down stock school rifle with the big clue of the turned down muzzle [to fit the Krag bayonet]. I informed him being curious of what he would do. He didn’t acknow...

Re: Krag photo at Cracker Barrel
Neat pix. The soldier in the photo looks oriental. Would a japanese soldier involved in the defense of Peking during the Boxer Rebellion have used a Krag? Of course the simplest answer would be a studio portrait. Just a wag.

Re: Vithavuori for the 30-40
I’ve been using about 10.0 gr VV Tin Star with a 193 gc Hunter’s Supply bullet. Nice easy load for our club’s BAM matches. I use the same load and bullet in my 30-06 ‘03 Springfields too. We don’t use jacketed bullets on steel at our cas club.

Too many big words....and history too. They have trouble with current events. A lost cause. Hopefully they wont infect too many innocent family members before they succumb.
