Re: Hornaday Interlock 220 grain bullet Sale
How do they get away with "no tax charged"? They may hide it in their prices, in which case it's just an advertising gimmick, but failing to pay the tax agency in the states of their customers residence is asking for trouble.

Re: Krag rifle in current CMP auction
That tells us a lot about the actual value of our currency. Those of us who think the price is incredibly high are mentally obsolete, behind the times.

An ordinary young man could have had a far worse job. How many stocks, 1894 to the end of production. I don't remember when that was.

I'm old, also, but I seem to recall that, once upon a time, MP's Krag destruction article was posted here.Dick Hosmer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 3:36 pm Wasn't the whole thing also posted here - and so should be available somehow - or was it by link reference only? Re: Boxer Rebellion II: Revenge of the Boxers
If I read the news correctly some time back, the HNIC in China gave the Peoples Liberation Army a 2027 date to solve the Taiwan problem. Building military (missile) platforms on all those South China Sea reefs is a necessary step before invading Taiwan and that step is not done. That closes the Sout...

Re: Boxer Rebellion II: Revenge of the Boxers
I agree that Biden is a disaster, but our country is looking at the beginning of WW3. Ukraine is a replay of Belgium in 1916. Maybe maskirova, a distraction to divert our attention from the invasion of Taiwan. When that happens, we'll lose a third of our Navy and access to a lot of computer chips. A...

Is the color a function of the photo/camera pic? Or is it the color of the Krag receiver? The color is about right for what we called "Krag purple" back in the '50s and '60s.

Re: Krag in 6.5x54 MS
The M-S cartridge diameter is observably and measurably less than the 6.5x55 at all locations from case head to shoulder. Seems to me that altering the barrel required more than just cutting off the breech end and re-cutting the threads. Would they have reamed out the chamber and put in a chambered ...

But it's easy to find a trapdoor. I've been messing with this stuff since the late 50s, all over the country, and I've never even seen a Remington-Lee, for sale. I might have seen one for show, but not sure. To me, they are museum pieces.
