One of the good things about a sportered rifle is that you can mount a scope on it without affecting it`s value . I have the US ,Norwegian and Danish versions all were sporterized years ago and all are scoped. These 68 year old eyes shoot a lot better that way. Kooler

I have a sporter Dane that bubba messed with.The barrel jacket was removed and the barrel cut to 28 inch.I`m shooting cast bullets [.329] through it and the best accuracy I can get at 50 yd. is about 1.25 inch. Thank you Ned. Mine measures about 12 7/8 to center of butt with no plate on it. I took off the old recoil pad that was in bad shape, I`m trying to figure out what to replace it with. This will be a cast bullet only rifle so I don`t have to worry about recoil.

It`s too bad that Lee still does not make the Lee Loader in 30-40. I started reloading with one almost 50 years ago with one for my sporter `98 . That was the first reloading that I ever did and it filled the bill for an inexpensive outfit that worked quite well.

I have a Danish Krag that is sporterized and it has a rubber recoil pad on it.I think bubba might have just added it to the back of the stock. What is the length of pull on a military Danish Krag? I would like to get rid of the recoil pad if possible.
