Re: ok if you say so ...

Just a thought. Google an article entitled "The Load," written by C. E. Harris. Tremendously helpful for reduced loads in a variety of calibers including, of course, the .30-40 Krag. Sincerely. bruce.

Re: 1898 Krag Restoration Project

Wonderful post and thread. Very much enjoyed and appreciated. Have one Krag. Took a year to get it just about back to issue condition. Hope your rifles will give you a double helping of enjoyment! Will continue to follow with interest. Sincerely. bruce.

Re: The Copper Fouling Lie ~ Don't Fall for It!

Patches came out in shreds. Sprayed any load with a boat tail bullet and short waist. Did better with plain spitzer bu...

Re: New to me 1896 Krag

First of all, welcome to the forum! Glad you are here. Your newly purchased carbine is gorgeous. I'd buy it in a heartbeat! No, it is not a perfect relic of the Krag era. So what? It's your rifle. Grab some ammunition and take your rifle to the range! Then ... when the time comes, head out to do som...

Re: 180 gr RN Jacket Bullets

Re: 180 gr. RN .30 Cal. bullets. Maybe this will help. I have had extremely good results using hard cast lead bullets purchased from Hunters Supply. I will be loading these for my Krag Infantry rifle (1902). I have used these bullets in my 03 and 03-A3 rifles as well as a Rem. 700 .30-06 rifle with ...

Doesn't matter was a cutting tool is designed to do, if it is not properly sharpened, it will not work up to its full potential. What is produced will be less than optimum. Sharpen first, then proceed to use the tool to do the work. Sincerely. bruce.
