Re: I'll Take A Cracked Krag Bolt Any Day...
I give him a lot of credit for not only making it through this ordeal but to make a video to help us be more cautious and aware of these potential injuries. He sure has the scars from this he'll keep with him the rest of his life. Wow!

Re: M1898 Krag carbines
That's quite an addition to our small list, Dick. It sure would be nice to know which ones, or how many, are still in the short stocks with the sling and ring and Model 1896 rear sight. Thanks.

Re: M1898 Krag carbines
I'm updating the M1898 carbine list since I just saw a listing with good pictures for an authentic early Model 1898 Krag carbine with the 30 inch stock, correct Model 1896 carbine rear sight and sling and ring. Sure looks good to me and has a great serial number 123905. Link is: https://www.gunboard...

Re: 1898 .30-40 vs 1894 6.5x55 for action stregnth?
Are you asking theoretically since the 6.5mm cartridge is close to .25 caliber compared to the .30-40 Krag round? Thinking or re-barreling the Krag rifle? The original military 6.5x55 bullet was 156 grains compared to the .30 US at 200 grains. I don't know of a head-to-head comparison since the acti...

Almost As Bad As Kamala Harris' Word Salads!
I pulled an image off of the internet of the front of the magazine of a sporterized Krag rifle. I have never seen this many assembler's stampings on a Krag magazine before. There are usually a few there but this sure stumps me as to what was going on. Word, or "letter", salad sure fits.

Thanks for the geographical confirmation that you're in a better part of the state. I'm sure you wish the state taxes were lower up north.
