Re: School Rifles with JFC Stock Cartouche
FWIW - I don't own a 'School Rifle' and have seen more suspect ones, than real ones. To add to the confusion, "Philippine Constabulary carbines" and "School Rifles" are both technically, a "United States magazine carbine, model of 1899, adapted for knife bayonet and gun slin...

Re: Front sight height?
Out of curiosity, what is the height of your current front-sight combination and where does it group on target at 50 & 100 yards?

Re: Front sight height?
'Scottz63' - I was hoping someone would answer your question. Currently, I am not home and in a position to measure some Krag rifles and carbines and provide the measurement the way you have requested. It might help others, to better help you, if a photo of your Krag aftermarket front-sight and your...

Interesting Florida Gun Shop
The A.W. Peterson Gun Shop was established in Colorado, in 1886, and later moved to Florida. They claim to be the oldest gun shop in the USA. Located on Old 441, between Mount Dora and Tavares, my wife and I were driving by it the other day, while returning from an excursion to Mount Dora. My wife s...

Thanks Moose nugget, neat videos!
The attached photo of my family heirloom .62 caliber rifle shows the 'grain' pattern of iron strap wound and welded around a mandrel, to create the barrel tube.
This old barrel construction explains my hesitation over ever firing this irreplaceable (to me) rifle.
