Thats a nice looking conversion of a Krag. Certainly not a "bubba" creation. Do you know how much it weighs? Also are there provisions for a sling? Nice that it came with some ammo.

I had similar luck the last time i had my Krag out. I was shooting 210 grain cast bullets. I was part of the problem for sure but i think the load had something to do with it. Nice looking rifle. But it does look a little unwieldy. I bet if you cut down the barrel and stock it would make a handy lightweight hunting rifle. (just kidding).

Times are changing quickly . You used to be able to shoot cougars in chicago. (not those kind ). Now the cougars relatives would settle out of court for an undisclosed ammount.

A lot of Krag carbines had swivels added after leaving Uncle Sams warehouse. It seems some had swivels added while in service. Either way its part of the carbines history.

Welcome to the KCA. From the pics shown it looks like you have a nice 1899 Krag carbine. One thing that is not original to your carbine is the front sight blade. Probably changed to work with the ammo used with it. How is the bore? Cleaning rod and oiler in but trap by any chance? Good luck with you...
