Parashooter, Thanks very much for your advice and data! I have never used the QuickLOAD program, but I will pull it up. Is it free? Based upon the load data you provided, in reloading the 180 gr Hornadys, I will start at 36 grains and work my way to 39 grains in half gr increments.

Those uniforms look heavy for the summertime in Cuba. I was at "Gitmo" in the winter of 1967, it was unbearably hot.

I can spot only one trooper with a rifle, it is a Krag carbine. I assume all of TR's troops were issuesd a sidearm, probably an 1873 SAA Colt revolver.
