Re: Senate Border Bill unveiled ....
Think THAT'S bad? Wait until the "digital dollar" is unleashed - probably later this year. The gubmint will have TOTAL control over EVERYTHING that you do! Been putting away Krags (or snuffboxes) hoping to help fund your retirement? How are you going to sell them? Even if Billy Bumf**k 'ta...

Re: Looking for help. 1898 carbine??
Obviously NOT an 1898 carbine, and . . .
I'll go one step further and say that I don't believe that is even a genuine SA stock. Funky bolt notch, too-narrow grasping grooves, and ZERO patina/age to the wood. Looks like it was "assembled" very recently.

I guess we need to find out how the Dems cast multiple votes and give them a dose of their own medicine! The PRK stops around Davis - we live in heaven . . .

Re: eBay mystery?
I had recalled reading - long ago, and way before I owned one (whose bolt I've not taken apart) - that the .22 striker was "different" but never bothered to understand how, or why. Now, I suppose I'll have to dig it out and look!

Truth! And certainly not funny. Even if you do not like Trump , or simply consider him to be the lesser of two weevils, we have GOT to get rid of the current shitshow in DC (AND those in the Liberal/Woke large cities) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The good old days of Harry Truman, and Democrats who lov...

Re: J.F.C. Stock Cartouche on 1898 Krag Rifle?
Dick, It seems that Mallory and Brophy, maybe Poyer also (I'm at work and don't have my books here) all attribute the J. F. C. Cartouche, in block letters, to represent PCs made at Springfield. That's my source. The real PCs were only made at Manila with the M.O.D. cartouche. Farmer has certainly s...

Re: J.F.C. Stock Cartouche on 1898 Krag Rifle?
A welcome to "Hammer", and I'm intrigued by Whig's first reply regarding PCRs made at Springfield - I thought the REAL PCRs were all done at Manila? Certainly thousands of "school guns" (wish someone could come up with a nicer-sounding designation) were done at SA, and many (most...

Re: Can anyone Help ID these markings??
Here is a picture of an early M1899 carbine from the short period during 1900 when the headless cocking piece (and the rare M1898C sight, graduated for the short-lived "hotter" load which apparently cracked a few bolts) were in use. Contrary to earlier beliefs, that cocking piece is also c...

Re: Parts Interchangeability?
Re-written for clarity: Rumor has it that the trigger plate screws from CW muskets (or newly-made copies) were used where a small wood screw was needed, through the TD, Krag, and '03 periods, all the way to the M1 Carbine of WW2.
