This is the info I compiled in 2018 based solely on Ordnance Reports. Note the 341 gallery Krags made in 1907. I could probably find and post that report if necessary.

Re: Fantasy Land
I've simplified my life by buying beer locally brewed. One favorite is Haymow Molly made just a few miles from my house. A fine refreshment.

Re: Fantasy Land
This reminded me of Stark's in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin along the Mississippi. This store has been open for 75 years now. Sells all kinds of sporting goods including firearms along with meats/cheeses and wine/spirits. Donuts(?), well maybe "store bought". Ah yes, Wisconsin, the land of ...

Re: wise words
After arguing with an "idiot" I was told to "never argue with an idiot as a bystander might not know which person is the actual idiot." Kind of along the same lines.

I didn't catch the crossed legs either. I thought maybe Frank farted. You know, like eating beans around the campfire on "Blazing Saddles". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPIP9KXdmO0 Personally, I can't physically sit with my legs crossed like that either. I don't have the body type to do...

Krag Recovery Story
Here is a video by Mark Novak where he restores a "mutt" Krag "carbine" involved in a fire. I watched some of his other videos as I sometimes restore old rifles without destroying their provenance. Presently, I am "helping" keep a Model 1884 Trapdoor, once Native Americ...

Re: Can't find info on this gun
Kyle', I too, like many of us here, own a Krag sporter. Mine also wears a 24" barrel. It has a M1903-type front sight, such as yours. My barrel is actually for a M1903 rifle modified for the Krag, not a cut down Krag barrel. It has markings rear of the front sight that points to its pedigree. I...

Re: Transitional Gun Slings
It is amazing how history can get "buried". I enjoy finding out about gentlemen such as these along with their contributions. I believe The Great War overshadowed many of these men's prior accomplishments. Here is a Krag rifle at the Smithsonian, "Credit Line" by Lt. Col. George ...

Re: Transitional Gun Slings
I am not sure if the Shaw Sling had any influence on the M1907 sling. The M1907 sling was credited to Colonel Wright (died in 1923 at the age of 75) of the Ohio National Guard. Col.Wright.png George C. Shaw (1866-1960) was a 1st Lt. in the 27th U.S. Infantry when he submitted his sling design. He be...
