Krag stock maker
Hey guys, in my researching of the Magazine Lee Metford and Magazine Lee Enfield rifles I came across this outfit in Canada, Rossriflerestoration.com. Don’t know how long they’ve been around. According to their website they also build Krag and Enfield wood. I don’t know anything about them and don’t...

Re: Peerless - Mannlicher
I like them too, found a mannlicher stock for the 03 Springfield a while back but haven’t found a sporterized donor for it yet.

Re: 126yr old scout rifle
Looks good. The Krag makes a good scout rifle. Handy and easy to cycle. I don’t guess it makes the weight requirement and it doesn’t use a box mag but so what. Like the one that I built. I added a cheek pad/pouch that puts my eye in the exact spot that it needs to be.

Re: Need a picture of a handguard spring clip. Attached or unattached to the handguard.
If you are using an aftermarket handguard without any holes get a couple mauser clips to experiment with. Thats what I've used on two builds so far. I cut a mortise into the guard and the jbwelded them in. You could easily add rivets then. The 2 silvery things on the bbl are the clips. Might need to...

Re: ‘Carbine’ into a Constabulary’ish build.
I think I’m done. He wanted to keep the ‘03 sight and peep so the upper handguard is a walnut m1a handguard with a lot of work done to it.

Might just be a posed picture as he has already removed his gear?

Re: I'm confused about what I have here.
Thought that I’d mention that I used a m1a walnut handguard on my buds carbine to school rifle project. Used steel mauser handguard clips. We tried it on my buds assembled rifle Saturday with his warm [read hot] handloads and it held. Might be an alternative if you have woodworking skills. I’ve used...

Re: I'm confused about what I have here.
Had no idea it was a mortal sin to alter a handguard. Hope that only applies to Krags because I’ve chopped up a few for my various builds, M1a’s, ‘03s, 03a3s, but NO Krag handguards.

Re: Rehabing a cut-down
Nice work on the stretch. I had to use a scrap .22 stock to semi stretch my school rifle build. Would have been a lot easier with the replacement forend.

Re: ‘Carbine’ into a Constabulary’ish build.
I managed to jbweld the mauser clips to the walnut without welding the bbl and stock all together. Hopefully get it sanded to match the stock profile tonight and stain tomorrow. The rear band shifted a little before it set up but it’s holding ok. I had to add a little jb to the wood under the upper ...
